Pamela was asked by her sponsor (Burger King) to paint a moose honoring firefighters and their families. Celebrating the anniversary of Bennington's Fire Department, Pamela has painted her moose with vignettes of the town's old, former fire departments. Smokey is also painted as a firefighter in actual "turnout" gear. Besides his paint, Smokey is adorned with a fireman's helmet from one of the old stations.
