Katie Dare, who lives in Bennington Vermont and is a student at MAUMS designed and painted the school's moose. She spends her free time in adobe illustrator creating original art pieces inspired from Japanese animation. Her favorite class in school is art.
She was inspired do the moose by winter storms ie: the title Winter Rain, like the lightning storm Bennington had back in January of 2001. This storm was rare and beautiful on the snow The moon on the crown of his head was inspired by full moons in the dead of Vermont winters when the moonlight reflects across the snow.
