Moose on the Move

On the weekend of May 27th through May 29th, "Mooscellaneous Habitat" (Patron Bennington Car Wash and Texaco Xpress Lube, Artist Cynthia Taylor) spent an enjoyable mini vacation as guest of Church Street Art Gallery in Lenox, Massachusetts.

The town of Lenox was celebrating Art Walk, an annual event showcasing the various artists and dealers in Lenox. Michael Ulick of Church Street Gallery invited a representative of Moosefest to stand on the street and greet guests from around the area, including from as far away as Boston, Albany, and New York City. "Moosecellaneous Habitat" graciously handled that duty representing Bennington Moosefest 2005. Many visitors expressed a desire to attend Moosefest activities and the Auction and Gala on October29th. Jerry Kline and Jeff Egan taxied Mooscellaneous Habitat down and back.
On the following Saturday, June 4th, a contingent from Bennington Moosefest accompanied "A Stitch in Time" (Patron Sweet Pea Antiques, Artist Sue Kline)
to The Strolling of the Heifers, in Brattleboro, Vermont. Representing the Bennington Area were strollers Pattie Maguire (Patron Maguires Market & Mary Morrissey, Artist Lucy McNulty), Sadelle Wiltshire (co-artist for "Leaf Peeper" , Patrons Spectrum Design and Image Pro Color), Jeffrey Egan of Pownal, Vermont, Patron Jerry Kline, Sue Kline, Artist Cynthia Taylor, Tristan Hoag and April Hawkins of Bennington. Traveling to Brattleboro with the group, and performing photographic duties were Cheryl Wehrspaun (Patron Sweet Pea Antiques), and Barbara Sirvis (Patron Southern Vermont College for "Walter" by artist Greg Winterhalter and Southern Vermont College Students).
The Benningtonians were welcomed warmly by the parade watchers, and "A Stitch In Time" greeted passersby on the Commons following the Stroll. It was estimated that upwards of 55,000 people were in attendance. Television and radio crews from Boston, Hartford, and Brattleboro captured the events of the day.
Moosefest thanks Leonard's True Value Hardware, Pownal, Vermont (Patron for "Rufus", Artist Pam DiSano) for the use of their hand cart, which made a perfect float for 'A Stitch in Time". Stitch's float was beautifully decorated by Jeff Egan and Cheryl Wehrspaun. The moose and the cart were transported to the parade and back by Jerry Kline and Jeff Egan.
Of special interest to townspeople and other readers as well, is that stroller April Hawkins joined in the fun while home on leave from Kuwait and formerly Iraq. She sends a great big HELLO TO ALL THE GUYS AND GALS in Kuwait and Iraq. She and BJ the Bear will see you soon~!
