Dan Turcotte is a man for which creativity is not just something he does but something that drives him. Color is like candy for Dan. He is a painter, sculptor, inventor and graphic designer. He and his wife Stephanie own Turcotte Design, a design company in Bennington, VT that specializes in signs and vehicle graphics. Dan is as comfortable painting on canvas as laying a hot graphic on a sporty car. He has a passion for vintage Volkswagens, and has a 1983 GTI that he has turned from a junkyard reject into a show car, inside and out.

Dan has designed the interiors of themed Night Clubs in Tampa, Florida, which gave him the experience to build unusual things. In a creative frenzy, he created Lily the Pumpkin Eating Dinosaur for the Apple Barn. Lily is 60 feet long, sports a powerful mouth that has no problem smashing pumpkins, has a terrifying roar, has smoke spewing from her nostrils, and her eyes glow.

After the success of Lily, Harry Diamond insisted that Dan create a moose for the Apple Barn. He provided photos taken by Paul Hersey to be included somehow on the moose. Dan chose 2 of the photos of Southern Vermont Orchard, had them digitally printed, applied them to the moose and painted a magical windstorm around them in hues of blue, green and gold. The finished moose looked like a majestic creature from a Fairy Tale. Hence he became "Windweaver".
