Who Is Bennie? In case you haven't "herd", Bennie is Bennie Benmoose, a young moose who lives atop Mount Anthony. Like most youngsters, he gets into his share of trouble. One could say he manages to get into more than his share of trouble. He really is a good guy, though. His parents Zipswik and Sylvan Benmoose have seen to that. His grandfather Gigantus, probably the biggest moose ever to be seen in these parts, rules the Clan of the Moose with an iron hoof, and a gigantic loving heart. Children (and those of us who are young at heart) will want to know how it happened that Bennie changed color. The reader will follow Bennie and his best friends, Chip Branch, and Chip's sisters, Sylvia and Flavia as they travel down the mountain and straight into a life changing adventure. Readers may learn some of life's lessons, too, hopefully in a gently tolerable manner, and may even find a giggle or two. Author Sue Kline writes her first children's book with "Once In a Blue Moose, the Adventures of Bennie and the Moose Clan". Sue co-authored with her sister, Cheryl Wehrspaun, "Florence Ceramics, a Labor of Love", a biography of Florence Ward, and the documentation of Florence Ceramics, Pasadena, California (Schiffer Publishers). Sue wrote a column for many years in eAcro News, an online publication for the antiques industry. Her credits also include regular articles for Antique Week, Antiques Journal, Pensacola News Journal, The Jewett Family Monthly, Tias.com, GoAntiques.com, and Antiques Collectors and Dealers Association. The illustrations in "Once In a Blue Moose" were drawn and painted by Sue. Her moose from the 2005 Moosefest, "A Stitch in Time" currently lives in Latham, New York. "Stitch" was honored as one of the people's choice awards in 2005. |

Sue is a resident of Bennington and would not want it any other way. She said, "It took me a long time to get here. I was raised in Ohio and graduated from the University of Cincinnati. I have lived in Florida, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and Vermont. I have been around the world twice and have visited twenty-seven countries. My favorite place is Vermont. This is like no other place on earth. The people here are truly friends and neighbors. They believe in neighbors helping neighbors - the way it used to be in this country, and still is in Vermont. I admire that quality in people. My hero is John Dostal, the man who planted all the lilac bushes here in Bennington. When he said, 'I thought I came up here to die, but instead I found that I came up here to live', I knew I had found my mantra."
